Sekonda Active Smart Watch Review – A Quick Overview:
Sekonda Active Smart Watch is a budget friendly smartwatch which offers many different features which is quite impressive for its price point. This watch offers essential smartwatch functionality without the premium price tag. But it this watch really worth the price? I have tested this watch to see how it performs in day-to-day use. In this article you will find detailed breakdown of its features, pros & cons to help you decide whether this smartwatch is right for you. Before we dig deeper, here is a quick overview of Sekonda smart watch, have a quick look at the spces before going to the next section.
Sekonda Active Smart Watch Review: Connectivity options
First things first – is it compatible with your phone? Sekonda active watch sports IOS or Android phone via HitFit Pro app using Bluetooth. I found the pairing process simple and straightforward. As with most other budget smart watches, this smart watch doesn’t have its own WiFi. When you are out on a walk, you will need to take your smart phone with you, otherwise some of the features like call notifications will not work. Additionally, Sekonda active watch also does offer built in GPS.
Sekonda Active Smart Watch Review: Health and Activity Tracking
This watch offers basic health tracking such as heart rate monitoring, temperature and includes sleep tracking. It can track exercises such as walking, running and climbing. However, there is no option to track of some of the other sports like tennis, which may be a drawback for some of the users. The heart rate monitor function can be around 10% off especially while doing high intensity workouts but still can provide a good indication of your heart rate.
Sekonda Active Smart Watch Review: Notifications and Control
Once connected to the phone app it can display notifications from your phone such as messages and emails. You can also control audio tracks playback, check the weather, and locate your phone using its built-in features. One of the things I have noticed is that the manufacturer claims that it offers over 100 watch faces, however in reality it is lot less than that. The watch face I wanted to use was not available. But you can also use your own pictures on the watch face.
Sekonda Active Smart Watch Review: User Interface
The user interface on Sekonda Active smart watch is quite smooth and responsive. The first thing I normally check in a budget smart watch is its responsiveness. The screen resolution is acceptable but not very sharp, it also lacks auto-brightness feature. This watch also offers tilt to wake screen features. However, compared to some of the other smart watches such as Xiaomi Redmi watch 5 active or Redmi watch 5 lite, I found Sekonda’s tilt to wake screen feature slightly delayed. When you move your wrist, you may have to wait for half a second or so for the screen to wake up, which is not a major drawback. It offers replaceable straps which can be changed easily. It feel quite light when you are wearing it and does not hurt the wrist. The original strap is quite comfortable.
Sekonda Active Smart Watch Review: Battery Life
The battery life is acceptable on this watch. How long the battery will last, largely depends on which features you will use the most on this watch. On an average the battery lasts around 3 days on a full charge. However, if you have certain features such as notifications or heart rate tracking turned off then the battery will last much longer. Having said that, these are the core features of any smart watch, and most people buy a smart watch for these features. Turning them off will may defeat the purpose of a smart watch for many users. Similarly, for activity monitoring, if you are actively tracking workouts and monitoring hear rate then the battery will drain faster, but in most cases it will still last for 2-3 days. That said, the battery life is decent for the price, but if you will be using it regularly throughout the day then you should prepare for frequent recharging which may be every other day.
Sekonda Active Smart Watch Review: Final Thoughts
In conclusion, if you are looking for a budget smart watch which offers basic features such as heartrate monitoring, activity & sleep tracking, email & message notifications, then Sekonda smart watch may be a good option for you. However, if you are looking for features such as built in GPS and Bluetooth calling, then check you CMF Pro 2 watch!
